I changed the name of this ritual oil twice before allowing the ritual oil to speak to me and choose its own name. It was always a vanilla scented ritual oil and had the name been Vintage Photographs, from the beginning, I would absolutely have created a different scent. What’s interesting to me is that vanilla is an aphrodisiac. Aphrodisiacs are really incredible for our moods because they boost serotonin in the brain, which create the feelings of bliss and euphoria. For men, the scent of vanilla correlates with a greater increase in sexual arousal than any other scent. Vanilla is a powerful aphrodisiac for women as well, but for different reasons. In women, vanilla can create a feeling of comfort and peace, encouraging a sense of safety. Vanilla also calms the mind, appeases anger, and soothes irritability.
